ABOUT THE BAND: HANNAH & THE WISTFULS

Hannah & The Wistfuls is an alt-country/indie band featuring the songwriting, vocals, and rhythm guitar of Hannah Kaminer; the keys, bass and harmonies of Kevin Williams (Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Fwuit, Tyler Ramsey, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters); drums by Ross Montsinger (Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Fwuit, Tina & Her Pony, The Moon & You, and more); and pedal steel, lap steel, dobro, and electric guitar by Asheville's inimitable Jackson Dulaney (Alex Krug, Pretty Little Goat, Alexa Rose, and more). The band frequently collaborates with Asheville-based musicians Melissa Hyman (cello, bass, harmony vocals) and Jackson Grimm (guitar, banjo, harmony vocals). 

Hannah Kaminer is an Asheville-based artist known for her poignant songwriting, clear voice, and often comedic stage presence. She delivers gut-punch lyrics about love, loss, and home, painting portraits of small town Appalachian life while wrestling with themes like gentrification and overdevelopment, bait-and-switch religion, codependence and dysfunctional relationships. Together with various iterations of her full band, she has released three studio albums: Acre by Acre (2015), Heavy Magnolias (2018), and Heavy on the Vine (2024).

Since its release in January 2024, Heavy on the Vine has garnered play and a Studio B session at WNCW as well as reviews and mentions by the NYTimes, Rolling Stone, The Bluegrass Situation, and glowing reviews from Americana UK and Alt Country (NL). (See press page for more coverage.) 

Hannah & The Wistfuls play throughout North Carolina and beyond, and have opened for bands such as The Steep Canyon Rangers, Scott McMicken & The Ever-Expanding, and Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters.
