Acre by Acre Is Now on Spotify!

Hey friends!

We are getting excited: Album art is in the works and is looking awesome. And we are very close to pushing "start" with the album manufacturer. Soon these albums will be REAL.

If you are a Kickstarter supporter, expect to get a survey very soon, asking you for your most current mailing address. You will get Heavy Magnolias before anyone else!

In light of all that, a special announcement:

In anticipation of the upcoming release concert for Heavy Magnolias, we've decided to release Acre by Acre to Spotify!

You can start listening, add these songs to your favorite Americana playlists, and just generally knock yourself out streaming music here: Acre by Acre on Spotify.

Also, if you are a Pandora listener, you should see "Acre by Acre" posted there in the next few weeks!

Meanwhile, we are planning an awesome album release concert for March 18. It's a Sunday night at one of the most delicious venues in Asheville, the Grey Eagle. I suggest getting your tickets in advance! You can get your tickets here.

Keep on singing,

Album Update + Special Show Dec. 27!

Hello listeners!

2 exciting updates for you:

1. As of this Thursday, the recording sessions for Heavy Magnolias are officially complete! The guitar, vocals, dobro (EEK), bass, percussion, organ (yes, ORGAN - WHOA), and steel have all been tracked.

To me, this new album sounds different, big, spacious. And the collaborations on this record have been enchanting – it is so exciting to work with musicians who are full of heart and talent, and my producer Julian who is full of patience and fresh ideas.

Thank you, listeners, for making this huge project possible!

Tickets for the December 27 gig are selling fast! Half of them are already gone! Get them here.

The full band will be playing the upstairs stage at the Isis Restaurant & Music Hall in Asheville. Come out and get a glimpse of the songs on Heavy Magnolias – we will play just enough of these songs that you are hungry for more! This is a delightful listening room – it has great sound and of course lots of tasty treats and drinks.

"Heavy Magnolias" Is On Its Way!

Hello listeners!

The first day of recording "Heavy Magnolias" is in the books!

We are beyond excited to record at Asheville's Echo Mountain Recording Studio this week!

Here are a few photos of Day 1, which focused on acoustic guitar, drums, pedal steel, upright bass, vocals, and a few harmonies. Gotta say that the musicians I get to work with are amazing!

Rachel is an amazing harmony vocalist! She also makes me laugh. Thanks for making "Knoxville" gorgeous, Rachel!

James makes sure that everything in percussion land is going well. Drums needed to be tuned and adjusted a LOT. There is so much that could go wrong, but luckily James is a professional!

Above, Jackson makes sure the pedal steel is sounding sweet and soulful.

Below, sound engineer Julian adjusts something technical and fancy.... no idea what!

Don't become a sound engineer unless you're good at organizing things. This makes our heads spin.

So glad to have all of these musicians in the studio! This is Aubrey, one half of The Clydes, amazing upright bassist and awesome friend.

Thanks for following our progress! More to come!
