Hannah + the heartbreak highlight reel return to the Altamont Brewing Company

Excited to return this week to a favorite neighborhood joint, The Altamont Brewing Company, in West Asheville!

This show will feature Brian Claflin as our opener.

It's a late night, but c'mon, it's Friday! And you need to start prepping for July 4 festivities.

Many of you want to know: What the heck is the Heartbreak Highlight Reel? Hey, I can answer that:
It's the name for the full sound, the full band version of Hannah's songs, much like her sound on her CD Acre by Acre. And it's the name she uses to distinguish her solo shows and her band shows.

Much love to you listeners and to my West AVL neighborhood!

- Hannah

Three Upcoming Shows

Dear lovely listeners,

Happy winter!

Here are three opportunities to warm your hearts during this beautiful and icy season –

THIS Saturday (January 30) – The Altamont Brewery 9:30 PM

Hannah Kaminer & The Heartbreak Highlight Reel (a little band I am slowly weaving together!)

Award-winning songwriter Brittany Ann Tranbaugh opens.

THIS Tuesday, February 3 – 7:00 PM House Concert at 87 Kenilworth Road (The Lutz Family Home)

Opening for The Swamp Brothers on Tour! Including Asheville’s most missed resident, Nate Spencer. (Nate played mandolin and sang harmony on my album “Acre by Acre.”)

Friday, February 19 – Songwriters in the Round at Zuma Coffee in Marshall, NC (Time TBA)

With songwriters Amanda Anne Platt (of The Honeycutters), Andrew Adkins, and Hannah Kaminer

More concerts to come!

Here’s to snow drifts and guitar riffs,

Hannah Kaminer

Upcoming shows - & new songs this Thursday at the Mothlight!

Dear listeners,

I'll make it quick. Couple of shows coming up you should know about!

Raw new tunes coming up this Thursday 9/3 at the Mothlight, where I'll be playing an opening set for the fast-rising songwriter Christopher Paul Stelling. (A link to watch his recent NPR Tiny Desk Concert.) Doors at 8:30 ($8), music starts at 9:30.

I'm also excited to announce that I'll be playing to honor Asheville painter Stephen St. Claire, at the opening of his new studio, in the River Arts District on October 8th at 7pm. Breathtaking paintings and the kindest people, in the most interesting part of excited!

Got kids? I have a couple of shows on the horizon that aren't late night, and aren't in bars... stay tuned for more details!

Peace and a lovely autumn be with you!

48-hour Songwriting Residency

During July Hannah visited Indianapolis, Indiana's Harrison Center for the Arts  to participate in their songwriter residency program. She had 48 hours to explore and try to understand the city, write a new song about her experience, and then perform it for the Harrison Center's "FoodCon" First Fridays event. You can listen to Hannah's new song "Come Alive" here and read an article about the 48 hour residency here

Record Release a Big Success!

Thank you so much, friends, for coming out to the record release of "Acre by Acre"! What a sweet time with musicians and friends!

Digital Downloads will be available soon of the new record -- Stay tuned!

To buy the physical album, go to

announcing "Acre by Acre" record release party - March 26, 2015!

Thanks to the Kickstarter backers who made it happen -- and the Brown Bag Songwriting Contest that started this whole journey -- and the friends who suggested that maybe Hannah should sing her songs in front of other people --

We are SO EXCITED to announce that finally we will release Hannah's album "Acre by Acre" with an album release party on March 26, 2015 at the Mothlight in West Asheville, NC!!!

Tickets are $5 at the door, and we will also have the sweet sweet privilege of listening to the music of Sven Hooson and J.W. Teller.

Thank you for supporting Hannah's music and making this album happen!

KickStarter Goal Reached!

Dear friends, family, and sweet listeners,

I am thrilled to report that we have reached the goal to make this album!

THANK YOU for your generous support. This could not happen without you.

I have already begun to rehearse with a few of the musicians who are going to be playing on the album, and I can't tell you how excited we are to hear these songs coming together in sweet harmony!

A couple of things you need to know:

1) The campaign isn't actually finished until it reaches its 30-day mark. This project will conclude its funding stage on July 10th. Your pledge will not come through as funding until then.

2) I will keep posting updates through KickStarter, but the best way to stay updated on my progress is to follow my mailing list on my website (enter your email under "Connect") and "like" my page on Facebook.

3) Lots of people have been asking me, "What happens if you go over your goal?" Answer: It all goes to music. If there is a significant increase over the goal, we will be able to record more songs on the album. A slighter increase over the goal means that you could receive a more beautiful/finished product, such as album liner notes with complete lyrics to my songs.

4) Finally, there are THREE Asheville opportunities to hear me play in the next two weeks.

  • This Saturday, July 5, at the Mothlight in West Asheville. Brian Claflin (lead guitar, harmonies) and Nate Spencer (mandolin, harmonies) will join me in opening for Matt Townsend's CD release show. Matt is getting some great reviews on his classic folk style - you won't want to miss him with his full band.
  • Next Saturday, July 12, House Concert at Rivendell. Sweet musical collaborations from several songwriters + potluck feasting in a gorgeous setting in Candler, NC. Make sure to RSVP.
  • Tuesday, July 15, 7-9pm, Jack of the Wood (downtown Asheville) presents "Singer-Songwriters in the Round."

Thank you for your generous support, your shoulders to lean on, and your belief in this project.
